Part 1 of 3 · Education

Learn before you plan.

Start with the purpose of the trip so every camp on the calendar is chosen on purpose, not by default. Understand what a camp can prove, define a clear goal, and prepare before dates and travel get decided.

Part 1 of 3 · Education

Know why you are going before choosing where to go.

College camps can provide instruction, evaluation and direct experience with a program. They do not guarantee recruiting interest, an offer or a future roster opening.

01 · Understand the signal

Know what camp can prove.

Record direct evaluation, specific feedback and clear staff requests. Attendance, a generic invitation or a social-media interaction is not proof of recruiting interest.

02 · Define the purpose

What should this camp accomplish?

Choose a clear purpose: evaluation by a specific program, instruction, multi-program exposure or experience.

03 · Contact the staff

Reach out before registering.

Send a brief introduction with name, graduation year, position, school, verified measurements, film link and the specific camp date.

04 · Research the program

Use evidence before travel.

Review the coaching staff, position room, academic options, roster cycle and official camp details. Prepare questions that direct communication can answer.

05 · Protect recovery

Avoid camp overload.

Consecutive camps and long travel can reduce performance. Plan around age, position, workload, heat and recovery time.

06 · Prepare for camp day

Remove preventable problems.

Verify check-in, location and equipment. Pack cleats, water, sunscreen, required medication, identification and emergency contacts.
